The Challenge
Balus Aero is an aircraft certification and design company that provides services in the aviation community — specializing in aircraft certification, engineering, and design. As the company grew, its former identity as Heron Aero no longer reflected who they were or the vision for where they were heading.
They needed a complete rebrand that communicated authority, precision, and forward momentum to the aviation industry. On top of that, their existing website was built on an old version of WordPress with broken links — it wasn't mobile responsive and wasn't being indexed by Google, meaning it essentially didn't exist online.

The Process
We began with an extensive brand development process — immersing ourselves in Balus Aero's vision, values, and the story they wanted to tell the aviation industry. Finding the right mark was central to the rebrand.
The answer was the Kestrel — a small but formidable bird of prey that hovers 20–30 feet above the ground in low winds with the stillness of an owl and the precision of a hawk. Aggressive for its size, it takes on challenges twice its weight. The Kestrel in the Balus Aero mark is purposefully flying upward — a direct reflection of the company's ambition and trajectory.
From the mark, we developed a complete brand suite: color palette, typography, business cards, and print collateral. This gave the team a consistent, polished identity to take into trade shows and client meetings.
For the website, we built on the OASIS platform — a responsive, client-editable web solution. We structured pages for SEO, ensuring the site would be indexed and discoverable. The new site clearly communicates Balus Aero's services, builds credibility in the industry, and makes it easy for leads to get in touch.
